ABOUT US

Located in Ohio’s Amish country—which is known for its skilled craftsmen—Expression Countertops pays homage to those pillars of superior workmanship: attention to detail, consistency and pride in work.

We have a hand, quite literally, in the entire project, from design to installation. We start by providing design inspiration and help you pick the best material for your specific space. Then we carefully measure and template your project. We craft solid surface and laminate countertops by hand or digitally cut quartz and granite and polish each stone to perfection, completing the process with expert installation.

A local, family-owned business, we love what we do and enjoy meeting clients one-on-one in our showroom to help guide them in choosing the best countertop for their homes or businesses.

COUNTERTOPS

Both functional and pretty to look at, countertops are a central feature in kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor living areas and other spaces.

The right countertop will pull together the entire space, complementing cabinets, tile and flooring. So whether building a new space or remodeling a current room, let us educate you and show you all of the different material options—from quartz and granite to solid surfaces and laminate—to transform your space with countertops that combine style, durability and functionality.

Granite

Natural Stone

Quarried from large igneous stone deposits found around the world, granite is a natural stone that begins as molten magma that flows into other rock structures and cools slowly—leading to stunning coloring and design in which no two slabs are the same. With a 6 to 8 rating on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, granite is very durable and scratch and heat resistant.

Quartz

Man-made stone

Engineered for superior durability, quartz crystals found in nature are ground into small particles and sand, then combined with resins and binders to create a hard, strong material ideal for countertops. Pigments are added to give the countertops endless color and pattern options, from solid neutrals to bold veined design. Quartz offers an excellent blend of natural beauty and modern performance.

Solid Surface

Man-made acrylic surface

A composite, non-porous and man-made material made of acrylic resins and natural minerals, solid surfaces are hygienic and easy to clean. These countertops are fabricated with nearly invisible seams, creating a smooth look and feel, and can be seamlessly integrated into sinks and backsplashes. They come in many colors and designs, from neutrals to bold hues.

Laminate

laminate sheet and wood substrate

Manufactured in thin plasticised sheets and wrapped over a wood core substrate, laminate is the most affordable option for countertops. There are designs and colors that mimic natural stone as well as solids, woodgrains and abstracts for that something different. These engineered surfaces are resistant to stains and moisture and are easy to clean.

We have worked with great people.

What our satisfied customers are saying

FREquently Asked Questions

  • What materials do you offer?

We offer a variety of materials, including Quartz (engineered stone), Granite (natural stone), Soapstone (natural stone), Solid Surface (e.g., Corian), and Laminate.

  • What is the most maintenance-free countertop?

Those made from non-porous materials that resist stains, scratches and heat are the most maintenance-free. Topping the list are quartz (engineered stone) and solid surface (such as Corian).

  • Does granite need to be sealed?

It depends on how porous the specific granite is, but oftentimes granite should be sealed to maintain its appearance and durability. Without sealing, it can absorb liquids, become stained or harbor bacteria over time. Sealing is relatively simple process that typically involves a spray-on or wipe-on sealer that is easy to apply and buff off.

  • Will I be able to feel the seam?

It depends on the material. With quartz and granite, you may be able to feel the seam slightly. With solid surface, you will not be able to feel the seam.

  • When buying new countertops, do you remove and dispose of the existing countertops?

Yes, but it is an additional charge.

  • Do you hook up the plumbing after the countertops are installed?

    No.
